Social FlexAbility is the new Sleep & Eat 2019 theme

With 29 BCFA members already signed up to exhibit at Sleep & Eat 2019, Europe’s leading design and innovation event for the hospitality sector returns to London Olympia this November. The theme for 2019 is “Social FlexAbility”, exploring through the Sleep & Eat sets as well as the Conference, how hospitality designers can be in the vanguard of enabling guests to reconnect with others in our digitally isolating world.

As in previous years, the event will feature an international exhibition, bringing back world-renowned manufacturers and introducing newcomers to launch their latest collections and showcase their most design-led products. BCFA members who are exhibiting at Sleep & Eat this year include Astro Lighting, Camira Fabrics, Chelsom, Edmund Bell, Hansgrohe, Harrison Spinks, Kobe, Morgan, Phillip Jeffries, and Style Library, as well as Sleep & Eat newcomer, ILIV.

Hansgrohe

“Sleep & Eat continues to be a pivotal show for Hansgrohe, enabling us to present industry-leading innovations to a highly engaged hospitality design audience. This year we have a designed an inspirational stand that showcases the finest products from AXOR and Hansgrohe. Expect to see avant-garde concepts from AXOR that lay claim to perfection in design and craftsmanship, alongside the latest products from Hansgrohe that create new ways to enjoy water whilst meeting the highest standards of quality and functionality.” – Jay Phillips, Managing Director of Hansgrohe UK.

iLiv

“After the success of Astro, this year ILIV will be exhibiting the multidirectional and fashion forward Aura drapes Collection. Aura encompasses six unique designs; the collection has been intelligently created to allow the various colours and textures to be used harmoniously for drapery, cushions and accessories. Our main aim is to inspire conversations which bring to life a vision through colour, pattern and texture.” – Emily Arch, Senior Designer of ILIV.

The perennial Sleeper Bar will be created by Michaelis Boyd, London and New York based architecture studio recognised for its sophisticated, design-led approach with an emphasis on sustainable and environmentally conscious materials and building techniques.

“We are both really looking forward to designing the Sleeper Bar. On our previous visits to Sleep & Eat we have been very impressed by the strength of the designs and the themes and we are excited to be adding our own spin this year. The theme of FlexAbility means we will be designing a dynamic and social hub for all this year’s visitors.” – Alex Michaelis and Tim Boyd, founders of Michaelis Boyd.

Last year, when the ‘Eat’ component was introduced to ‘Sleep’ to underline the growing convergence between hotels, restaurants and bars, the event welcomed a record number of designers and buyers from across the hospitality sector, including an increase of 24% in international visitors.

Sleep & Eat will take place on 19th – 20th November in the National Hall, Olympia, London. For more information and to register for a complementary pass, visit https://www.sleepandeatevent.com.
